100 years of Nikon.. can you believe it? On July 25th this year the Nikon Corporation will celebrate its centennial anniversary and they’re planning to do it in grand style. To mark this unique anniversary, the renowned Japanese company has already released a few anniversary models of some of their most popular products, with bespoke cameras, lenses, and binoculars, specially designed to make any Nikon enthusiast even more excited.
With that in mind, I have to admit that I wasn’t expecting to see the Nikon Model I getting a wonderful Swarovski treatment. The 100th Anniversary Crystal Creation is actually a cool replica of the brand’s first ever camera, that was introduced back in 1948.
The well known crystal maker Swarovski was responsible for creating this stunning crystal figurine, that’s going to be part of a limited series, meant to make your celebration that more special. Nikon has yet to announce the pricing and the availability of this unique ‘jewel’, but it is worth mentioning that they will also be offering a collection of 25 lapel pins, a new leather camera strap, as well as a miniature Nikon F camera model.
If your credit card allows it, I’m thinking it would be a smart investment to get one of everything. Happy birthday Nikon!
