Luxury car manufacturer Jaguar has collaborated with Oliver Sweeney, another high-end British company, to create a collection of driving shoes. The occasion is the launch of the new F-TYPE sports car range.
The Jaguar by Oliver Sweeney shoes are available in a combination of carbon fiver print leathers and sandwich nubuck leathers, in a variety of colors inspired by the interior of the F-TYPE: red, navy and black. Tim Cooper, Oliver Sweeney’s Cobbler-in-Chief, has stated that these shoes were designed to mimic the shape of the foot as closely as possible, even having the shank removed for more durability and flexibility. In this way, he added, the footwear provides a sort of connection between the driver, the vehicle and the road.
This is not the first time a car manufacturer released shoes together with a new model – Mercedes already did that for its SLS AMG supercar in 2010, in collaboration with Santoni.
The Jaguar by Oliver Sweeney shoes are already available online for prices ranging from $325 for the leather styles, to $375 for the carbon fiber shoes.
