The iconic Burberry trench coat was created to offer protection from the elements, while also being light and comfortable enough to wear in more pleasant weather. It has also recently served as inspiration for the British luxury brand when creating its latest Spring/Summer eyewear collection.
Every piece in the collection features trench design details, like the distinctive check motif, as well as the color palette of honey, stone, and black. Designed in Britain, these sunglasses were hand-made in Italy, following a custom process that includes the mixing and coloring of acetate for the hand-built frames, or the creation of bespoke moulds for the nose pads.
A stand-out in this collection is the pair of $230 honey acetate round sunglasses. Its gold temples feature the check enamel inner temples similar to the coat’s distinctive lining, while the leather-wrapped temple tips with contrast stitching are reminiscent of the leather clad buckles of the trench coats.
The cat-eye tortoiseshell acetate sunglasses are also remarkable, boasting the same trench coat inspired look, with dark red gradient scratch-resistant lenses and a similar price tag worth $230.
