Chinese electronics company Oppo is a relatively new name in the world of smartphone manufacturers. But now the brand might grab some headlines with their latest releases, which include the N3 (which features a 16-megapixel automated swivel camera) and the R5, touted as the world’s thinnest smartphone. Today we’ll be taking a closer look at the latter.
The Oppo R5 comes in a 3D-welded aluminum alloy case, with the entire device weighing in at just 115 grams. It features a Snapdragon 615, eight-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm processor, with 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage memory. Furthermore, the smartphone boasts a sizeable 5.2-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080p, a wide 180-degree viewing angle, and a pixel density of 423ppi. Also worth mentioning is the 13MP Sony IMX214 back camera, while the front-facing camera has 5MP.
Even with these respectable features, the phone’s most remarkable trait is its incredible thickness: just 4.85 millimeters. The length and width of the device are 148 and 74.5 millimeters, respectively.
The ultra-thin R5 smartphone by Oppo comes with a price tag of $499.
