Imagine yourself entering a bathroom, for some reason or another – that’s none of our business – and finding the mirror, doorknobs, the towel holders, the bathtub, tap and shower, and everything in between just shining in gold. Your reaction? It should be priceless, so to speak.
Some of you may remember a story about the world’s first gold-plated hotel, that opened its doors earlier this year, a 25-story building covered in exactly 5,000 square meters of gilded ceramic. Well, today we finally have a chance to get a glimpse of its lavish interior and it’s, from a lack of a better superlative, pretty epic.
Located in Hanoi, Vietnam, the Dolce by Wyndham Hanoi Golden Lake Hotel invites guests to experience an ostentatious setup. The most obvious feature, an overdose of gold and glitter, won’t discourage anyone, but it seems that rooms start at around $250/night.
This 5-star wonder is not entirely covered in gold, but you could find here 44kt coffee mugs, gold-plated tubs, sinks, and toilets, and the mesmerizing 24-karat gold-tiled rooftop infinity pool will definitely prove to be an unforgettable sight.
Did I mention the pool also overlooks Hanoi’s impressive skyline? Those magical views, coupled with 24kt gold tiles, will surely redefine what everyone thinks about “Golden hour”.
Describing this place has proven to be quite the challenge, I will admit. According to company officials, the lavish 441-room property required $200 million to complete and, frankly, that amount does not sound all that surprising, with all the golden details throughout the hotel.
For instance, the minute guests enter the hotel lobby, the level of opulence you’re about to enjoy here becomes clear. Here, smatterings of gold are displayed all across the room, and that’s just the start.
At the end of the day, you should know that around 2,000 points of gold have been used to decorate the unique Dolce by Wyndham Hanoi Golden Lake Hotel. Was it worth it?
Sure it was! I doubt you have ever seen anything more glamorous than this; there is a luxury statement everywhere you look – from the cutlery, golden details inside the rooms, the showerheads, bathtubs, sinks, and even the toilet seats. My apartment looks so mundane and boring right now.
To make it simple – there’s no place in this lavish hotel without any golden touches – food and drinks included. For instance, did you know that dishes served at the hotel are topped with edible gold flakes?
It’s going to be difficult to raise the bar in the hotel industry, after this one. Your move, Dubai!
