Located within Bali’s southeastern region of Manggis, in Indonesia, the staggering Amankila resort is just an hour away from Bali’s International Airport, by complimentary transfer. If you want your trip to last for only 18 minutes, transfers by helicopter are also available.

Towering behind Amankila, Mount Agung is as worthy of respect as this extraordinary spot. The resort hangs gracefully above the Balinese coastline, exuding the traditional style of Karangasem. The already stereotypical words to the region, like Kopi, Alang Alang or Frangipani, are deeply tied to the area, and will reportedly be available to guest at any given time.

As for the resort, perched amongst a hillside covered in lush vegetation, it is traditionally exquisite and utterly luxurious. It comprises a total of 34 free-standing suites with thatched roofs, beautiful to look at both inside and outside.

The resort also includes a stunning infinity pool, with three tiers, which guests will probably walk by before checking in. The pool itself shares some extraordinary panoramas over the azure waters of the Pacific Ocean. And getting down to the level of the ocean, a pristine white beach with fine sands awaits each and every one of the anxious guests.

Furthermore, for those who fancy exploration, the resort’s two outriggers are there to help for all sorts of trips. There are also the Elephant coral and a wreck from the Second World War, which are excellent spots for diving and snorkeling. Nightly rates at Amankila start at $900.
