Today’s fuss and concern about pollution and the rising fuel prices has driven the automotive industry towards electric powered vehicles, yet there are a few solutions out there that surpass electric cars in every way – bikes. More and more people choose to move around the city self-propelled, on their own bikes. This may not be the smartest choice for long distance journeys, but in cities, it’s the proper way to get from A to B.
The HP Velotechnik Scorpion fs 26 S-Pedelec trike, which we featured here, is a Eurobike Awarded recumbent bike and sports a large rear wheel and two wheels at the front. The transmission is realized by a 27 speed Shimano XT drivetrain, alongside a 500 Watt BionX hub motor attached to the rear wheel, which is optional, though. A 48 Volt Li-Mn single battery effectively powers the contraption up.
The exclusive HP Velotechnik Scorpion fs 26 S-Pedelec bears a price tag of $7,495. Besides the fact that it’s foldable, in order to save as much space as possible, it’s quite a unique way to move around.
