Enticed by Mac Audio – speaker / amplifier manufacturer – to tune up a Mini Clubman John Cooper Works [JCW], the German car-tuning company Wimmer RS responded affirmatively. The main upgrade will be done to the acoustic technology of the car with the help of Mac Audio’s Professional Installation Team, with Nic König at lead.
It’s widely known that great sound power brings sound-distortions and unwanted vibrations. The producers used Dynamat Xtreme, an insulating material that eliminates those, plus Stinger cabling, more batteries and high-tech buffer capacitors.
Summing up an ear-shattering 3,900W, the sound system comprises a hand-crafted 90-liter bass box with 6 Micro X Series amplifiers and 3 Mac Audio STX Reference-Woofers, and front-and-rear Mac Audio Star X 2.16 loudspeakers. All these revolve around an Audiovox VME 9325 BTA Head-unit with USB, iPod, iPhone, DBV-T and Bluetooth connections, easily controllable by a facile touchscreen.
Wimmer RS have tuned up the performance (new ECU software and sport exhaust system) and interior of the car, all of these raising the power to 230 HP.
