The Helicycle is an unusual vehicle, one that will definitely turn heads while on the road, but will still get you wherever you need to go. Created by Hammacher Schlemmer, it’s a three-wheeled motorcycle for two that can easily turn into gyrocopter, enabling it to take to the skies. The unusual-looking contraption is actually street-legal, though you will need a pilot certificate in order to fly it.
Made from lightweight, yet sturdy materials (carbon fiber, titanium, aluminium), the Helicycle can run for 750 miles on a full tank and can go from 0 to 60 mph in about eight seconds, powered by a 230 hp four cylinder engine. Whether in the air or on the ground, it can achieve a top speed of 112 mph. It only needs 540 feet of runway to take off, and 100 feet to land, and was designed to fly at low altitudes (below 4000 feet), at a range of up to 220 miles.
The Helicycle comes with a price tag of $395,000.
