Mercedes Benz is one thing, but when talking about Brabus, one can feel the power of this tuner even by spelling the name. They have taken a Mercedes CL and transformed it into “The world’s fastest and most powerful luxury coupe”, now being called the Brabus 800 Coupe.
This two-door is truly the most powerful on market today, developing an astounding 788HP and 1,420Nm of torque. The engine in the old CL-600 had to be totally stripped and redesigned by Brabus, and its 12-cylinder configuration had to be displaced, from 5.5 to a new 6.3-liter.
In conclusion, the individual cylinders got enlarged, the pistons are bigger, the stroke had to be stretched, four special new camshafts had to be added and an astonishing new supercharger, far better than the older one had to be mounted.
Thus, the exhaust manifolds got changed too and water-to-air intercoolers have been added. The exhaust system is now made of stainless-steel, including free-flow metal catalysts; the ECU has been remapped to meet the Euro 5 standards and to efficiently use the newly-installed components at their pure best.
The car boasts a new 5-gear automatic transmission, allowing the two-tone monster to reach 100 km/h (62mph) in 3.9 sec, 200km/h (124 mph) in 10.3 seconds, while the Brabus 800 has a limited top speed of no less than 350 km/h (217 mph). The imposing presence of the vehicle has also arisen the need of a new 40 percent lock-rate limited slip differential, 25 mm-lowered center of gravity, state-of-the-art braking system, with 405mm and 380mm discs and 6 and 4-piston calipers.
There have been made modifications on the exterior of the car as well, to assort it with the performance. One may either bring a CL-600 to the Brabus workshop to get it transformed into a Brabus 800 or they could provide a new one, for the respective price tag. The price is yet unknown, but given all the new stuff we mentioned above, it won’t be presented with less than 6 digits.
