Swans are absolutely beautiful and elegant creatures – no wonder they’ve inspired one of the most famous ballets ever. Iran-based designer Ali Alavi has taken the posture these graceful birds assume when they rest in order to create an exquisite piece of furniture for when you need a bit of a rest yourself. Called the Serenad Chair, it features stylish curves, reminiscent of the body of a sleeping swan, that are definitely pleasing to the eye, while also making the piece as comfortable as can be.

Built using modern materials and boasting a chrome finish, the Serenad Chair also creates an interesting effect on its surface, like the water is reflecting light on the swan’s feathers. All in all, the piece is perfect for a home with a modern outlook and it once again proves that even when you’re going for a contemporary design, nature is the best source of inspiration.
