Morgan is a British carmaker which likes to create very elegant, innovative, and unique vehicles sporting an eye-catching vintage look – cars like the Plus 8 Speedster we’ve showcased a few months back. Now the company is releasing the intriguing one-off SP1, the first to be produced through its Special Projects Division.

The car, which was designed in close collaboration with the future owner, comes with a handcrafted aluminum body and uses a wooden frame made of ash wood and African Bubinga red hardwood, a special request from the client who spent some time in Africa. The SP1 also boasts aniline leather upholstery and a series of roof-mounted toggle switches, in addition to an infotainment system controlled by an iPad mounted installed into the fascia.

Information regarding the car’s performance is pretty scarce, but we do know that power comes from a Ford 3.7-liter V6 engine equipped with a sports exhaust system and a new engine management system.

While the SP1’s design certainly isn’t for everyone, it’s always nice to see automakers that aren’t afraid to create cars which stand out. We look forward to more cool new stuff from Morgan’s Special Projects Division.
