CES 2020 was a bit different this year, with everyone worried about the virus, but luckily, it was one of the last major events that managed to take place before the whole world shut down. Samsung was there, as you can imagine, teasing everyone with various high-end devices and the brand’s latest technology; on their long and impressive list, you could find the enormous 292-inch TV called The Wall.
This colossal TV was built using the company’s futuristic MicroLED technology and it was also the biggest size of a modular TV displayed by the South Korean company in recent history. As you might expect, that thing was ridiculously expensive and Samsung only sold it to a few ultra-rich people, but that’s about to change today.
The South Korean electronics giant has unveiled a brand new 110-inch 4K TV, that’s a little bit more affordable and features the same advanced MicroLED technology. This incredible 110-inch 4K TV is already available for presale in Korea and will be launched worldwide in the first quarter of 2021.
MicroLED technology is said to be the future of TV sets. It’s made of micro-sized self-illuminating LEDs, which means the desirable qualities of OLED displays without the drawbacks, According to officials from Samsung, these micrometer-sized LED lights manage to eliminate the backlight and any color filters you might notice in your normal OLED TVs.
Self-illuminating, these tiny man-made marvels express 100 percent of the DCI and Adobe RGB color gamut, which means accuracy and precision in working with high-end DSLR cameras. The stunning results, with lifelike colors and accurate brightness could be achieved thanks to the 4K resolution display and exactly 8 million pixels embedded within.
We can also tell you that this TV has an incredible 99.99 percent screen-to-body ratio, while featuring an embedded Majestic Sound System. As such, the lifelike images are complemented by crystal clear 5.1 channel sound, with no external speaker needed.
Now, please consider this – Samsung’s 98-inch 8K TV with QLED display technology will set you back a cool $60,000. So, the new 110-inch MicroLED TV might just break the piggybank, and possibly your future kids’ college fund.
