Palazzo di Amore

America’s most expensive mansion is facing tough days right now, as it still has difficulty in attracting buyers. I’m not sure why, but it probably has something to do with the mind boggling $149 million price-tag.

Called Palazzo di Amore, the outrageous estate from the heart of Beverly Hills was initially listed for a $195 million last year, making it the most expensive home in the US, and today, even though its massive price has been chopped down by $46 million, the lavish estate still keeps its luxury crown.

Purchased back in 2007 for just $35 million by real estate entrepreneur Jeff Greene, this property has been envisioned by another real estate mogul, Mohamed Hadid, Set on 25 acres in Beverly Hills, this extraordinary residence has been expanded in these last 8 years and it was even offered for lease earlier this year, at $475,000 a month.

The main residence boasts over 35,000 square feet of luxurious living space, from a total of about 53,000 square feet, including an entertainment complex and a guesthouse. Featuring twelve bedrooms and twenty-three bathrooms, and including a massive 5,000-square-foot master suite, the mansion also comes with a floating-style glass-floor walkway over pools.

The entrance to Palazzo di Amore is lined by 70-year-old olive trees, leading to the entertainment complex where up to 250 guests may enjoy a unique dining experience. The 15,000-square-foot entertainment complex includes a 50-seat theater, a bowling alley and a ballroom with a revolving floor. Oh, and there’s also a DJ booth and a laser-light system.

For this kind of money you will also get a 128-foot reflecting pool and fountain, a tennis court, a lovely waterfall and a swimming pool, a spa and also a nice barbecue area. The lavish home even comes with its own private-label vineyard, which can produce between 400 and 500 cases of wine per year.

So, you could say this property is also an investment, not just a powerful social statement. Palazzo di Amore has two massive wine cellars as well, one that can hold 3,000 bottles and another one that could store up to 10,000 bottles.

And have I mentioned the fact that the property comes with a parking area for 150 cars, as well as garages for 27 !? If you’re a billionaire dreaming about the best of the best.. this is definitely as good as it gets!
