A new special edition camera will be released by Leica Camera AG, an upgraded version of the D-Lux 5 digital camera. It’s called the Leica D-Lux 5 Titanium, and, as the name suggests, it is covered in titanium, with an anodized silver-grey finish. It also comes with a shoulder strap and a premium grey leather case, to help the style-loving enthusiasts to achieve their dreams of shooting perfect moments, with a perfect camera, at the perfect time.
The technical specifications are the same as the ones of the regular D-Lux 5: a quick 5.1 – 19.2 mm f/2 – 3.3 ASPH, zoom lens with focal length between 24 – 90 mm (35 mm equivalent).
The previously mentioned specifications help one to capture macro-photos on camera, or even wide-angle landscapes. With a maximum resolution of 10.1 MP and a 1/1.63” CCD image sensor, this camera hardly stands among compact models, giving it a higher grade of detail, contrast, sharpness and color-quality.
The screen of the camera has a resolution of 460,000 pixels, rendering high-detail images, with no dependence on the viewing time. The D-Lux 5 Titanium can deliver images in diverse formats, like 4:3, 3:2, 16:9 or even 1:1 for more interesting shots. With video-recording capability, of up to 720p, mono-sound and facile connectivity, by USB, HDMI and analog-TV-output, this is truly a very useful piece. And the cost is reasonable, just $1,360 or £855. The edition will be available by the end of October 2011.
