Big news for those of you who love Vertu and their luxurious cell phones– Vertu, the high-end mobile phone division from Nokia has been purchased by one of the most influential equity brands in Europe – EQT Vi. It has come to our ears that Nokia will be retaining a ten percent minority share of Vertu.

The terms of this transaction have remained confidential, while the President of Vertu, Mr. Perry Oosting, declared: “This is a logical step in the evolution of Vertu as the world leader in luxury mobile products. Since Vertu began in 1998, our business has grown every year, due to the efforts of our talented workforce and the unique products and services we offer to our customers. We believe that EQT Vi will position Vertu to continue to grow and lead in our marketplace.”

The transaction is due to be closed during the second half of the current year and we dearly hope Vertu will come up with some tribute gadget to celebrate this event.
