The Ferrari CascoRosso is an Intriguing Concept with Some Bold New Features

Macedonian designer Dejan Hristov presents his own version of a successor for the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta called CascoRosso.

The concept was inspired by the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, one of the best sports cars of the 1960s, the last of which was produced in 1964 – exactly 50 years ago. The new model features a front-engine, rear-wheel drive setup, but there’s also the option of placing the battery behind the cabin, for an optimal distribution of weight. And here’s where things get really interesting: instead of side mirrors, the CascoRosso has two cameras with wide focus range which show video of what you would see from the side mirrors, as well as what you would see through the rear windshield. This system is great for the aerodynamics of the vehicle, though it would probably take some getting used to. Perhaps it would be best to only have this as an option and not to away with the mirrors and rear glass entirely just yet.

In addition to this, other features worth mentioning are the headlights hidden behind shutters and a unique door mechanism which doesn’t require much space to open.
