Created by the renowned French jewelry company Van Cleef & Arpels in the late 1930s, the gorgeous “Paillette“ motif is back in our minds and dreams, thanks to the brand’s new Bouton d’or collection.
This chic jewelry motif (and design), usually associated with rubies, turquoise or diamonds, first brought a glittering three dimensional look to the eye catching skirts of the ballerinas created by the French Maison. Then it appeared on glamorous torque necklaces, chic earrings and also on crossed bracelets.
With a glittering center, and subtly asymmetrical shapes, the jewelry pieces created with this motif in mind seemed to dance with every movement of the wearer, and that’s exactly what these new pieces are meant to do as well.
Adorned with a chic diamond at the center, these concave or convex jewelry pieces mix yellow gold with precious stones to form a stylish piece that will surely help any lady make a statement wherever she goes.
The new Bouton d’Or collection from Van Cleef & Arpels features two sets of five jewels, each of them finished in either rose gold, Mother of Pearl, and carnelian. Yellow gold, Onyx and crysoprase pieces are also available, with the Paillette motif being part of the charm.
Van Cleef & Arpels have unleashed a classic motif onto the fashion industry once again, and now they’re just watching the rippling effect. I think it’s safe to say that the pics below hint towards large sales numbers.
