World’s Tallest Hotel proposed in the heart of the Swiss Alps

Deep in the heart of the Swiss Alps, in southeastern Switzerland, you’ll find one of the most beautiful villages in the world, the lovely Vals, home to around 1,000 people right now. It’s an amazing place surrounded by pristine mountaintops that’s already a great tourist destination thanks its thermal baths and unique Alpine scenery.

That’s why a New York-based architecture firm called Morphosis, led by Thom Mayne, has proposed a new, jaw dropping hotel for this area, that will dominate the skyline of this place with its massive height. He’s proposing a 1,250 tall skyscraper, the same height as the Empire State Building, which would make this building the world’s tallest hotel and also the tallest building from Europe.

It’s hard to imagine a hotel this tall sitting right in the middle of high Swiss Alps but this transparent and slim hotel was actually the winner of an international competition held in June.  The hotel has been named 7132 after the postal code of this wonderful village and should be able to accommodate 1,000 guests, almost the entire population from Vals.

It will have 107 rooms, each of them with its own floor, offering guests breathtaking views of the surrounding Swiss Alps and the ultimate in comfort and luxury. The prices for a night here will range from $1,000 to $24,000 but I’m sure they will be worth every single penny because staying here would be a priceless experience.

The luxury hotel could be completed in 2019 and it will cost $313 million, if it wins over the hearts of local voters. It could be one of the best hotels in the world if it ever gets built, featuring a ballroom, restaurant, a luxury spa, library, fitness center and also a sky bar.
