If you live just by the water, you probably love to spend a lot of time just relaxing on the calm waves, and that’s where Australian designer Alexander Lotersztain comes in. He has designed a sleek floating platform that can be fully customized to your tastes, with docking capabilities, clip-on lighting and even designer furniture. You could even use it as a helipad or a dance floor, that’s how many things you could do with this platform!

Waterscape was designed by Lotersztain’s studio Derlot for Superior Group, and has quickly made its way to the Good Design Australia Awards. Featuring an interesting modular design, it will allow customers to modify and customize the one-meter buoyancy compartments to create a variety of shapes and sizes.

A lot of planning and calculations have went into developing this ingenious modular structure to keep it flexibile against the constant water movements. For example, to keep the seabed from drifting away, the buoyancy levels are adjusted to ensure the platform remains leveled.

On an aesthetic level, the Waterscape platform features a translucent fender created using a co-polymer plastic material that protects the structure from bumps and bruises. When the sun goes down, the platform can be lit up using an optional strip of LED lighting, located around the edge of the structure, which gives it a warm neon-glow, by a simple push of a button.

The extruded rim of the platform also allows for accessories like seating, planters, umbrellas, ice boxes, power boxes for running electronic equipment, ladders for climbing on and off, and mooring cleats to be clipped on and off. There’s nothing left to do than just sitting back, relaxing and enjoying a cocktail.
