Tiger Woods to Sell His 62-Acre Swedish Private Island

Tiger Woods is a legend in the world of professional golf, a status which meant that for years he was one of the best-paid athletes in the world. One of the properties he decided to invest his wealth was a beautiful private island in Lake Mälaren, Sweden, which he owned together with his wife, former Swedish model Elin Nordegren. The pair has subsequently split up, leaving Woodswith little use for his 62-acre Swedish estate, so he decided to put it on the market.

The island is perfect as a private getaway. Located in a secluded area, it is surrounded by water and has its own quay and private ferry boat for access. There’s even a landing strip for propeller planes, if the owner prefers this form of transportation.

Though isolated from the outside world, the property is not exactly far removed from civilization. The Swedish capital of Stockholm is just an hour away by car or by boat, and the estate boasts all the amenities of a contemporary luxurious retreat. At its center lies a house built using locally sourced wood, but there’s also a hunting lodge and horse stables, as well as facilities for docking a yacht or two. There’s even an 11th century Viking stronghold, adding a bit of historical charm to his remarkable property.
