Since 2002, Chopard has been one of the main sponsors and also the official timekeeper of the superb Grand Prix de Monaco Historique, a unique classic car event which brings together racing cars dating from the Pre-War period through the 1970s.
To celebrate the brand’s partnership with this classic race car event, and also to honor its tenth edition, Chopard has designed and released two gorgeous racing-inspired chronographs, that will be produced in very limited numbers.
The first one is Ref. 168570-3002, a charming watch that comes with a shot-blasted titanium and stainless steel case, an AR-coated sapphire crystal, a caseback stamped with the Automobile Club de Monaco logo, and will handle 100-meter deep waters.
Part of a limited series of just 500 pieces, this timepiece comes equipped with a movement provided by a Swiss automatic Chopard caliber, with 25 jewels, 28,800 vph and a power reserve of 46 hours. The silver-toned dial and the grey Barenia calfskin strap with orange stitching are just the finishing touches for this new, gorgeous Chopard marvel.
On the other hand, Ref. 161294-5001, will only adorn 100 wrists. With a case shot-blasted in 18kt rose gold, this piece is a head-turner, with some details being similar with the other version. But we do have to mention its 18kt rose gold crown and pushers, as well as the 18kt rose gold bezel with grey inlay.
Movement is provided by the same caliber, while a grey Barenia calfskin leather strap, with blue stitching, or a grey and blue NATO strap, both of them coming with an 18kt rose gold folding clasp that allows this piece to accompany owners everywhere. The question that stands now is: which one would you go for?
