The Quantum GP700 Is The World’s Fastest Kit Car

The Australian-built Quantum GP700 may be looking like a strange fusion between an F1 car and other supercars on the market but, it’s still pretty cool even when it’s standing still. And when we’re taking about its performances, then you should sit down because this tiny supercar is much more powerful than you could ever imagine.

Weighing in at just 700 kg, this kit-car sends around 700 hp to its rear wheels through a sequential six-speed gearbox, making it the most powerful kit-car on the planet right now. How’s that for a power-to-weight ratio?

Powering up this toy is a 2.7-liter four-pot engine, with twin superchargers , which enables the GP700 to do 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 2.6 seconds and reach a hair rising top speed of around 200 mph (320 km/h). Fitted with its standard aero package, this vehicle could – in  theory – drive upside down in a tunnel if it reaches 174 mph (280 km/h).

No clue about pricing, at this time, but rumor has it that $700,000 is what you’ll need to get your hands on one. Please note that a much cheaper hardtop version will soon follow. So if you’ve ever wanted to own a road-legal F1 car, this is probably as good as it gets.
