Here’s yet another item that welcomes rich folk in a very ludicrous way – a set of gold-finished golf putters – a golfers’ dream. Japanese brand Honma has come up with a bag filled with the finest in terms of golf equipment. Care to know the price?
Honma imagines these putters as a superb embodiment of the perfect golf club, as envisioned by golf artisans. According to the Japanese fabricator, these putters were carefully developed and crafted by a team of more than 100 accomplished craftsmen. Many of the lot have been individually picked for their polishing capabilities – according to Honma’s description on its website, differences of as little as 1/100th of a millimeter on the surface of the club will influence the way it strikes.
Furthermore, particular craftsmen were chosen for their expertise in terms of shafts-sculpting by hand-weaving carbon fabric upon an iron core. The idea behind the putters is the manufacture of a club that exudes confident grace and sophistication but is at the same time able to provide a sturdy swing. The founder of Honma, Hiron Honma, describes the goal needed to be reached by these putters – to allow their future users to “blister the ball”, according to Travel & Leisure magazine.
The putters will be exclusively manufactured on special request, while customers will reportedly have to wait for around 8 weeks to have them. They will be garnished with the finest materials like 24-carat gold and platinum. Mind you, this brand has already provided golfing equipment to famous figures for a number of times now – Jack Nicholson, Marc Anthony, Donald Trump and Danny DeVito.
Priced at a mind-boggling $75,000, this set of golf putters is easily one of the most expensive in the world. A single piece will reportedly set you back around $5,400. The golf bags alone are a bit more expensive though – 8 grand apiece.
