We have another superb resort for you today from the iconic Maldives Archipelago. Located on the secluded Lhaviyani atoll to the north east of the Maldives in the Indian Ocean, the Kanuhura resort is perfect for anyone who wants an unforgettable vacation in the heart of the Maldives.

Reachable by seaplane, it is located just 40 minutes away from Malé and its International Airport. The Kanuhura Hotel is a superb castaway spot ready to accommodate tourists in search of tranquility and laid-back island living experiences. All these are, of course, accompanied by modern and stylish feels. The resort bears a 5-star classification, with 100 rooms in this exotic location.

The reception, placed on the western side of the island, is surrounded by a few places that deserve attention, like the bar, an award-winning Spa, two restaurants and a huge freeform freshwater pool. The northern tip of the island, though, is the nightclub, a shore side restaurant and the water sports centre.

The main attractions of the resort are the Beach Villas, spread all over the island’s beaches, with access to the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean and exquisite white sands. In addition, there a fine division made between Water Villas and Grand Water Villas, over the lagoon, through an elevated wooden path that extends out beyond centre of the eastern shore.

Each of the villas sports an individual veranda, with wooden steps that allow access to water. Furthermore, every guest villa on the island boasts lavish bathroom with outdoor shower and freeform bath.

All over the place, beautiful, calm tones cover the housing and decorations, along with natural materials and sea-inspired arrangements. Some of the interesting stuff you can admire here are the ceiling-high windows and wooden sliding doors that pull away to reveal a private deck, incredible views of the beach and the breathtaking azure waters of the Indian Ocean.

Some characteristics of the main buildings permit us to check on the style of this resort. Wood-framed, single storey, aerated and long shutters and thatched roofs bring forth a unique ambiance. They are all packed up around the swimming pool decked with Japanese-like bridges, sharing views of the lagoon and beach.

The houses also sport a great deal of sophistication, through the materials that decorate and make them up. Some of these are truly exquisite, like the ceramics from Sri Lanka, textiles from Indonesia, slate from India, furniture from Philippines and China and hardwood from Malaysia.

The place doesn’t feature all this beauty only because of the luxury of its ingredients, but also due to the landscape that make up its surroundings.  The natural gorgeousness of the place engulfs the resort in a tranquil atmosphere, putting at one’s disposal the best location to experience barefoot living and different dining principles.
