Blue Moon Diamond

What you’re glancing at right now is a Vivid Blue diamond weighing exactly 12.03 carats. Described by experts as internally flawless, this stunning gem is set to become one of the world’s most expensive gifts ever.

Discovered in South Africa and set to be displayed in Hong Kong, London and New York, the ravishing Blue Moon Diamond is going to Sotheby’s auction of Magnificent Jewels and Noble Jewels, that will take place in Geneva, on November 11, 2015.

Diamonds with natural blue coloration are extremely rare, and this particular gem could be considered a once-in-a-lifetime discovery. The 12.03 carat spectacular diamond was named after the saying “once in a blue moon” and was classified as a fancy vivid blue diamond.

The Blue Moon is also the largest cushion-shaped stone ever and Sotheby’s is expecting to sell it for anywhere between $35 million and $55 million, that would be a new record for any diamond sale. Now, I’m sure rich folks with extravagant tastes will surely pay attention on this one!
