Ralph Lauren is auctioning the chance to view his personal classic car collection on a private tour led by the renowned designer himself. Lauren is a widely known and respected car collector and his collection of classic cars is one of the most impressive in the world at the moment.
The collection includes multiple vintage Ferraris and Porsches and many other old cars but probably the jewel from his collection is the 1936 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic, one of the two surviving Atlantics (only three were made) designed by Jean Bugatti, the son of Ettore, who founded the iconic supercar marque.
The other surviving Atlantic was sold this summer to an anonymous buyer for a reported $40 million and that gives everyone a clue on how impressive this collection is. The one who places the highest bid will finish Ralph Lauren’s tour with a ride in one of the cars determined by the bidder and Lauren and will get an autographed copy of Speed, Style and Beauty: Cars from the Ralph Lauren Collection.
The auction closes on Oct. 21 and the current bid for the tour is $32,000 but in the end it’s estimated it will go up to $150,000. The proceeds will go to the Ralph Lauren Pink Pony Fund, a breast cancer fighting charity organization.
