The Powerful and Stylish Corvette Z06 Convertible

Touted as the “most powerful convertible ever produced by Chevrolet”, the 2015 Corvette Z06 Convertible is set to be unveiled during this month’s New York Auto Show.

The vehicle’s exterior is similar to that of the coupe, with the exception of the power folding roof which can be opened or closed at speeds of up to 30 mph. It also has dual accent panels behind the seats, which come in Carbon Flash or carbon fiber.

Chevrolet has built a Z06 convertible as far back as 1963, however it wasn’t possible until now to create a lightweight, open-roof structure that can handle the Corvette’s performance. Advancements in engineering, materials and manufacturing techniques have finally made the creation of such a frame possible. And thanks to its stiff structure, no structural reinforcements were needed for the Z06, meaning that it’s weight is virtually identical to that of the coupe.

Powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8 engine that develops over 625 bhp and 635 lbs-ft of torque, it is one the most powerful convertibles in the world. Definitely one of the highlights of this year’s New York Auto Show.
