The name Pininfarina is well-known for its long-standing collaboration with Ferrari, but the Italian design company often ventures off the beaten track as well. This time, Pininfarina has created a limited edition e-bike dubbed the Fuoriserie.
Manufactured by 43 Milano, the bike is inspired by company’s1930s and 40s designs such as the Carrozzeria Pinin Farina, which gives it something of a vintage vibe. It comes with a chromed steel frame adorned with a walnut briarroot coating, as well as leather-clad handlebars and seat, just like the interior of Pininfarina’s limited edition 1936 Lancia Astura Bocca model.
Modern features include Bike+, a booster system consisting of a small electric engine, which helps the rider better deal with long distances, as well as an LED lighting system based on a brand-new high performance lamp and a plug connector that recharges mobile phones through the dynamo.
Only 30 Pininfarina Fuoriserie e-bikes are set to be released, with prices ranging from €6,000 (about $7500) for the basic model to €9,000 ($11,300) for the motorized version.
