The company-mixture Pentax Ricoh Imaging is celebrating a new addition to their series of digital cameras called Optio. The Pentax Optio VS20 is a gadget that packs a load of newly-developed technology and some innovative features.
It is equipped with a 16 megapixel sensor and a 20x optical zoom lens. The camera also features a 3-inch LCD display to ease up to process of photo-shooting and to be able to do a better check on whatever photos you’ve taken. The Optio VS20 is capable of capturing images at an exceptionally wide angle, 28mm, up to a point in the distance – 560mm.
The unique thing of this camera, though, is second vertical shutter-release button, feature found on DSLR cameras, making it the first in the Point-&-Shoot array. The feature will also prove helpful for photographers that enjoy vertically-extended images, through its steady shot system.
The camera also features software for image-transfer and processing, plus a triple anti-shake system, featuring CCD-shift-type SR mechanism, Digital SR mode and Movie SR mode, all these sharing the purpose of eliminating blur and increasing image quality and sharpness.
The manufacturers also integrated an HDTV movie recorder with pushbutton start. It can capture scenes up to a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. Due to be launched during February, the Pentax Option VS20 will be available in black or white cases. Unfortunately, the prices haven’t yet been made public.
