Razer has released an updated version of their Blade gaming laptop, touted by the company as “the highest resolution 14-inch notebook display on the planet.”
The new machine features an Intel Core i7-4702HQ processor, 8GB DDR3L RAM running at 1600MHz and NVIDIA’s newly-announced GeForce GTX 870M graphics card with 3GB of dedicated GDDR5 VRAM. It provides a total of three USB 3.0 ports, a microphone/headphone combo port and an HDMI out. The Blade also comes with a backlit anti-ghosting keyboard and built-in stereo speakers, which are a must for any good gaming laptops.
NVIDIA claims that the upgraded GPU provides 30 to 60% percent more power than its predecessors, with built-in game recording and streaming support also added to the mix. Another impressive feature is the Blade’s 14-inch 3200 x 1800 multitouch display, with a PPI rating of 262 and a total of 5.76 megapixels – four times more than its predecessor.
The laptop comes in 128, 256 and 512 GB SSD configurations, with pre-installed Windows 8.1, is only 0.7 inches thick and weighs 4.47 lbs. The system is already available for pre-order and costs between $2,200 and $2,699.
