Located in Knightsbridge, an ultra-exclusive part of central London, One Hyde Park is a newly-completed residential area where apartments are so expensive even billionaires have to dig deep into their pockets to buy one.
The complex, designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners and built by Laing O’Rourke cost an incredible £1.15 billion (almost $2 billion), so it’s no surprise it is the home of some of the most expensive apartments in the world. There are just 86 residences in total, each commanding fees you’d expect from the most luxurious private palaces.
Earlier this year, a penthouse in One Hyde Park sold for an estimated $237 million – that’s more than the most expensive house in the U.S., or most of the world’s private islands. The 16,000-square-foot apartment is bigger than most mansions and benefits from the building’s exclusive services and facilities, including 24-hour residential concierge, valet service, a 21-meter stainless steel ozone swimming pool, gym, squash courts, and ridiculous levels of security (we’re talking panic rooms, bulletproof glass, and guards trained by British Special Forces).
The gallery below showcases a 9,000-square-foot, 5-bedroom suite with an asking price of “only” about $115 million.
