Well, this is indeed something we would have never imagined – an extremely famous French fashion house, renowned for a plethora of perfumes and accessories, has recently launched its first pair of alpines skis. Yes guys, it’s Chanel, and they’ve just finished these wonderful skis that cost between $2,000 and $4,000.
The skis boast a retro-classical design, with the almighty Chanel logo imprinted on them. They are crafted from rosewood, fiberglass and aluminium, being extremely sturdy and lightweight. There’s also a discussion here – they do confer you the “cherry on the cake” title when amongst other people, but they will definitely not make you the best of the lot, in terms of performance. You don’t even need to have them mounted at your feet in order to be recognized as a rich fellow or lady.
To be honest, we’ve exaggerated a bit at the beginning of this article. In fact, it’s not the first time Chanel ventured into the world of sports. They have also manufactured fashion bikes, Segways and leather skis, but, yet again, they’re more for appeal than functionality. It’s time for the brand to really focus on the products it is most renowned for – cosmetics, accessories, perfumes etc. and leave the sports world to the professionals.
