Greubel Forsey is probably one of the world’s most innovative watchmakers – that’s exactly why their complicated, high-end timepieces are always the focus of everyone’s attention. The Swiss company has recently unveiled a reinterpretation of their sleek Double Tourbillon 30° Technique watch, which now comes in a stunning all-sapphire case.
Greubel Forsey gave up on all and any metal components for the dial and case of this watch, in an effort to offer us an incredible view of the movement and its complex architecture. Composed of three different pieces, beautifully mended together, this fully transparent 49.95 mm sapphire case will make you drool over this watch uninterrupted, but it all comes with a price.
Greubel Forsey’s new Double Tourbillon 30° Technique Sapphire watch is part of a limited run series of only 8 pieces, accompanied by a jaw dropping $1,100,000 price-tag. If that sounds like a lot of money, it’s because it is, but the gallery below will show you this watch is worth probably every single penny.
The patented tourbillon movement is comprised of 396 components, resulting in a hand-wound caliber, with an impressive 120-hour power reserve! Another interesting fact about this timepiece is that it scored 915 out of a possible 1,000 points score at the International Chronometry Competition – which is a groundbreaking achievement for a sapphire watch in our books.
