Fundu Lagoon, an Idyllic Retreat Set in a Secluded Part of Zanzibar

Fundu Lagoon is a small, yet luxurious boutique hotel set in a remote part of Zanzibar, on the island of Pemba.

The idyllic retreat is only accessible by boat and is surrounded by a beautiful beach on one side and lush foliage on the other. But you won’t get a chance to feel like you’re stranded on a desert island, as the staff is always there to help and tend to your every need. And the accommodations, spacious and discrete tented rooms with thatched roofs, will immediately make you feel right at home.

Everywhere you find yourself, you’re just a stone’s throw away from the beach and the wonders of the Indian Ocean. What makes Fundu Lagoon very special is the fact that it offers access to some of the best snorkeling and diving sites in the world. The resort also has great facilities for other water-based activities, like windsurfing, wakeboarding, or kayaking. There’s plenty to do on land as well: you can visit the local village, or explore the rainforest and the ruins the island’s ancient capital, Jambangome.

Whether you intend to just relax in a tropical paradise setting, or you want to discover the wonders of the ocean, Fundu Lagoon is a great retreat which really makes the most of its picturesque, secluded location.
