British Millionaire Adds Highly Exclusive Ferrari and Porsche to Supercar Lineup

For most people, buying a supercar is something they’d put on one of those “why I’d do if I’d win the lottery” lists, more of a pipe dream than an actual plan. Other people collect them like they’re nothing more than overgrown toys.

British entrepreneur Paul Bailey made his fortune in 2012 when he sold the telecommunications business he started with his wife, Selena, for £28 million (about $45 million at the time). Since then he’s been mainly in the news due to his penchant for super-exclusive sports cars. And now, with the acquisition of two brand new models, a Porsche 918 Spyder and a Ferrari LaFerrari, alongside his ‘older’ McLaren P1, Bailey might just be the first man in the world to own all three of them, a veritable ‘Holy trinity’ of supercars.

The 55-year-old millionaire actually drove his £866,000 McLaren, together with his wife and a friend, from their home in Rutland, East Midlands, to a Ferrari dealership in Nottingham, to collect his £1.2 million LaFerrari. Bailey had to wait two years for this particular model, as the first one he was offered didn’t have the level of personalization he wanted. From there, they went on to a Porsche dealership in Cambridge, where the £780,000 918 Spyder awaited.

Even though most people would keep such prized possessions far away from the general public, Bailey is more than happy to share his toys, which together are worth almost $4.5 million, with other supercar enthusiasts, like the members Supercar Drivers, a club he’s also part of. He’s also doing it for a good cause too, raising significant sums through raffles, with the prize being a ride in his McLaren.
