This is one of the cars of my dreams to be honest and it’s a delight for me to show it here and to know it is very close to materialization. There are new rumors about the BMW M8 going into production in 2016, on the occasion of the centennial year of BMW.

First of all, these pictures depict the BMW M1, a car that will reportedly look very much alike the M8. According to Car & Driver, the German automotive brand will be using the i8 platform and will be powered by an improved version of the 4.4-liter, direct-injection V8 TwinTurbo within the F10 version M5. The new engine will probably develop somewhere between 600 HP and 650 HP (447 kW – 484 kW) delivered to the wheels via a dual-clutch 8-speed automatic transmission.

From the same sources we’ve deducted that the M8 will adopt older design cues, while its body will be crafted from lightweight materials like magnesium, carbon fiber, titanium and aluminium with the sole purpose of making the car as light as possible, with a target weight of around 2760 lbs. As for the price tag, the BMW M8 will reportedly be one of the most expensive cars ever to be manufactured by BMW – €250,000 ($326,000 – £211,100).
