We’ve got extremely good news from one of the world’s leading automotive brands, Mercedes-Benz. The German automaker has recently revealed, officially, the 2014 E-Class facelift following a few leaks that could be noticed during the last week. For the car that will reportedly be available during the upcoming spring, the word “facelift” is pretty dull though, as the changes they’ve done to the E-Class are quite noticeable.

Mercedes-Benz has reportedly upgraded the series’ engines, has added even more standard equipment, a handful of top notch features and significantly better looks. Design wise, the front end has been fitted with a single piece assembly with LED daylight running lights as standard, instead of the former quad headlights.

The front grille is now available in two versions, a sportier one and the traditional one. The front bumper and the hood were modified as well. The rear of the E-Class now features a rear bumper which has undergone an array of modifications, alongside standard LEDs on the taillights.

The new 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class series can further be ordered with a number of engine versions. A rather powerful motorization is the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine mounted on the E200, delivering 181 HP (135 kW), followed by the E250 with 208 HP (155 kW).

There is a rather silent version as well, the E200 CDI, which boasts a 4-cylinder 2.1-liter turbodiesel engine with a maximum output of 134 HP (100 kW). The E220 CDI boasts with exactly the same engine, but tuned to develop 168 HP (125 kW). There is also the E250 CDI, which manages to deliver 201 HP (150 kW).

Moving up on the engine scales, the regular E350 comes with a 3.5-liter V6 engine which develops a nice 302 HP (225 kW), while the broader E400 Hybrid features the same V6, tied to an electric motor which generates an additional 27 HP (20 kW). The second most powerful propulsion unit available is found on the E550, a 5.5-liter V8, which delivers 402 HP (300 kW).

But, by far the most powerful is the flagship E63 AMG, due to become available during the next autumn, which will reportedly pack a bit more punch than the actual version, boasting a twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 which develops 518 HP (386 kW). To say the least, Mercedes-Benz will also create BlueTec versions of the E250, E300 Hybrid and the E350.
