Harry Winston Project Z9

Well, not really, but this limited edition of 300 pieces might leave you feeling like that statement is true. The new Harry Winston Project Z9 watch comes with a bespoke Zalium case, featuring double AR-coated sapphire crystals and water resistance of up to 100 meters.

In case you didn’t know, Zalium is a zirconium-base alloy, exclusive to Harry Winston. The design of this new timepiece from the American luxury watchmaker is bold, powerful and makes this watch look almost indestructible.

Movement is provided by the Swiss automatic Harry Winston in-house caliber HW3304, with 37 jewels, 36,000 vph and a power reserve of 72 hours. A flyback chronograph, it has a flat silicon balance spring, an 18kt white gold openworked rotor, circular Côtes de Genève, and circular graining.

The piece also features chamfered bridges, rhodium plating, an openworked date disk, with Superluminova revelator, and a NAC-coated circular-grained mechanism cover. Sure, those technical details don’t really matter when you have this beauty strapped around your wrist, but it would be a shame not to mention the brand’s hard work and technologies.

The Harry Winston Project Z9 comes with a lovely two-tone dial, boasting a galvanic black base and flange rhodium-plated counter zone and index arms. The SuperLuminova luminescence adds to the overall charm of this watch, while the black rubber strap, with Clou de Paris hobnail motif and a Zalium ardillon buckle, acts like the finishing touch.

About Victor Baker

Victor has always been a big fan of cars, which is why he’s so proud to call himself a genuine petrolhead these days. His love actually stemmed from his father, who was an automotive engineer. Today, he loves to write down everything that comes to mind, car-related or not, and when he really gets down to it, he pretty much becomes one with his laptop.
