Sting Ray

In case you’ve ever dreamed about the magical concept of living on water, in a one-of-a-kind floating home, that could be taken almost anywhere in the world, the Boston-based design consultancy firm Schopfer Associates has planned to turn your dreams into reality with a breathtaking project.

Dubbed as the Sting Ray, this magnificent two-story floating residence concept blends in luxury living with the passion for open water experiences and thrills, allowing its future owners and probably their lucky guests to enjoy life at its fullest, on water.

The sting ray-shaped residence seems to have its tail act like a vivid connection to land, with a driveway that lights up at night and a walkway that opens into a filtered skylit courtyard and the front door. The main level of this blissful floating home is meant for family use and entertainment, with a central rotunda and large glazed walls that allow the inside and outside to meet in a breathtaking resort-like ambiance.

The upper level is also focused around the central rotunda, with three lovely bedrooms and a superb master suite that offers serene panoramic views. Two baths and the dressing areas flank the room’s foyer, all that you need from your dream home.

Obviously, this home’s amenities should be overwhelming as well, to say the least; these include a separate cylindrical two-car garage, advancing the flowing sloped roof, an ample deck serving a private beach, an infinity edge pool, hot tub, a small dock, and even a fire pit.

One element that seems to repeat itself throughout the home is the slotted-gill ceilings, which remind us of the sleek underside of the magical fish. Thanks to the massive floor to ceiling windows, the interiors are well lit as well, with vivid decorations and minimal furniture making this place as close to perfection as it can get.

Apparently by the end of 2017, the first Sting Ray floating home should be ready to reach the Aegean Sea, raising the bar in innovative concepts and future residences really high. We’ve already started saving some money with Frugaa, and who knows? If we could get a massive discount on this magnificent concept, I’m sure we’d all want a piece of it.

As the construction of the first Sting Ray proceeds, you should know that all green initiatives will be incorporated in the design and build of this innovative home, in an effort to make this place as eco-friendly as possible, blending seamlessly with its collective surroundings.
