Preceding the United States Grand Prix, a special edition, racing aimed, McLaren MP4-12C was recently announced. Named the Can-AM, this limited edition has been named “the ultimate track car” by McLaren. McLaren’s MD, Andrew Kirkaldy, stated that the public really enjoyed the model when a concept was revealed in Pebble Beach earlier this year.

Based on the McLaren MP4-12C GT3, the GT Can-AM comes with a non-limited 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 in terms of muscle. In addition, an array of improvements have been done to the engine consisting of better cooling system and reprogramming. And this is the exact way to create the most powerful MP4-12C yet, delivering a whopping 630 HP.

At the moment, the car is reportedly not homologated for common roads, nor is it for any racing tracks. Furthermore, one spokesman even confirmed the lack of plans for this car’s future in racing.

The car’s exterior immediately leaves you jaw-dropped due to the rear wing which improves its aerodynamics and the downforce by 30 percent. In addition, it is fitted with carbon fiber engine cover vents, door mirror mounts and covers, sill covers and side radiator intake vanes, while an array of badges set it apart from the GT3 racer.

A set of black forged lightweight alloy wheels complete the exterior package, wrapped in top notch racing tires signed Pirelli. As for its interior, it comes with race seats, 6 point harnesses, the steering wheel from the GT3 version, air conditioning, state of the art carbon fiber dashboard and ultimately a race spec roll cage approved by FIA.

Customers will also be provided with a range of ultimate support packages which originate from the McLaren GT. Anyways, just 30 of these will ever be manufactured, each one priced at a massive £375,000.
