Smartwatches are usually viewed more like gadgets, the kind of toys millennials like to play with that have nothing to do whatsoever with the classiness usually associated with a premium timepiece. Nevertheless, LG seems to have found a way to straddle the fine line between conservative and contemporary with its new Watch Urbane, a smartwatch that is both stylish and state-of-the-art.
The luxurious device comes with a stainless steel case available in either silver or gold finish, but with a leather strap that gives it that luxury watch feel. In terms of technical specs, the Watch Urbane boasts a fully round 1.3-inch, 320×320 P-OLED display, with a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 512MB of RAM, and a 410 mAh battery. What makes this piece so interesting is the fact that its display looks just like the dial of an actual watch, which might attract some people who are more traditional in their tastes.
Set to be showcased during the 2015 Mobile World Congress, which starts at the beginning of March in Barcelona, the LG Watch Urbane is already available for pre-order in the UK. There, its price is set at £299 (about $462), which makes it the most expensive smartwatch yet.
