The Jeddah Tower is already an impressive skyscraper, even though the construction of this jaw dropping project has started just a while ago. Expected to be completed by 2020, this massive residential tower from Saudi Arabia was designed to make its mark on the history books, as it will become the world’s tallest skyscraper in just five years.

Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture were responsible for this amazing project, featuring a unique design and a mixed purpose. The Jeddah Tower will have 200 floors with luxurious apartments, offices, a shopping center and a lavish Four Seasons hotel, offering incredible views of the Red Sea from almost every single corner.

The brilliant minds behind the design of this skyscraper thought of a simple and cool idea, imagining a building that will change shape every few floors, thus allowing the wind to go ‘through’ it and have no effect on guests’ safety or mood.

Slated to cost a whopping $1.23 billion, the Jeddah Tower will require 6 million square feet of concrete and 80,000 tons of steel to become a reality. No worries though, as the constructors have already completed the 26th floor, so the 2020 deadline seems ok. Obviously, the object is going to reach unheard of highs in real estate development- but, not only.

This world-class urban center will provide visitors with a futuristic, advanced lifestyle, transforming the Jeddah Tower into an instant iconic landmark. Let us remember that the title of world’s tallest skyscraper is currently held By Burj Khalifa, in Dubai, which stands 2,716 feet tall. What are they going to come up with next?
