The Contera MD1 could compete with the big players one day

Built in a barn in the UK and ready to compete with some of the world’s fastest supercars, the Contera MD1 was designed by David Halford and Michail Papastergiou, two guys passionate enough to think they can make their own supercar.

Inspired by the legendary Group C racers from the 1980s, this jaw dropping supercar comes with a central driving position and two passenger seats in the back, just like the McLaren F1. Under the hood you’ll find a 3.0L twin turbo V6 Lexus/Yamaha engine, that’s able to produce 300 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque, but could easily go up to 600 HP after a couple of upgrades made by this company.

What’s even more impressive is that the engine bay of this supercar has been built in such a way that it can accommodate almost any engine you want, from V6s to V12s, coupled to any gearbox you can afford. So we could say you can make your own dream cars, with the powertrain you want.

And perhaps best of all, the Contera MD1 costs only £55,000 ($81,000 or €75,290). That’s not too cheap, but it’s definitely a great price for a bespoke supercar that’s created by truly dedicated people. The Contera could be a great alternative for a Porsche 911 or a Dodge Viper for example.
