The name A. Lange & Söhne needs no introduction, but the watchmaker seems more determined than ever to make sure we remember its name. These days they’ve unveiled two gorgeous timepieces, the 1815 200th Anniversary F.A. Lange watch, which pays an homage to Ferdinand Adolph Lange, and the beautiful A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Tourbillon Handwerkskunst, a limited edition timepiece that’s going to be the focus of our attention right now.
I’m sure very few of you know that “Handwerkskunst” is the German word for “artisanship” and this watch is definitely a fine example of skills and artisanship. With an exquisite engraving onto its dial, the 1815 Tourbillon features the Zero-Reset complication in conjunction with the stop-second tourbillon, thus allowing the user to stop and set the time to within one-second accuracy.
This A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Tourbillon Handwerkskunst version runs on the L102.1 manual wind movement, which comes with a 72 hours power reserve, as well as 21 jewels and 5 gold chatons. At 39.5 mm wide and 11.1 mm thick, the watch is quite large, yet discreet and elegant.
Only 30 such jewels will be available for purchase, with a dial made of a black-rhodiumed pink gold, with tremblage engraving and a smooth, granular surface. The brand’s logo and numerals add a bit of flair to the dial, while the mirror polished tourbillon bridge and the high-polished upper part of the case complete the overall stunning design.
This gorgeous watch will adorn your wrist with the aid of a brown crocodile strap, once you pay $181,000 for it.
