Summer might be nearing its end right now, but the fun is just getting started, because in just one week the 2015 NFL Season will kick off. And if you love football just as much as we do, this is the moment you’ve all been waiting for – and we’ve decided to celebrate it with a special NFL-themed list, here on Luxatic.
The best players in the league rake in millions every year from team contracts, endorsements and prize money, that’s why they can afford just about anything, from supercars, jewelry and yachts, to unique toys and unbelievable homes that will surely take your breath away.
Today we’ll take a look at the 15 most amazing homes owned by NFL players, which is probably the right way to kick off the NFL season.
15. Richard Sherman
The star cornerback of the Seattle Seahawks paid $2.3 million for this amazing mansion just outside of Seattle, that once used to belong to NBA star Jamal Crawford. Richard Sherman’s Mediterranean-style villa has four bedrooms, six bathrooms and a ton of luxurious amenities, like an indoor swimming pool, two fireplaces, a wet bar, a basketball court and even a beauty salon. A lavish property that’s perfect for the highest paid cornerback in the NFL.
14. Devin Hester
Devin Hester is probably the greatest return man in NFL history, holding the record for most all time return touchdowns. After a long and successful career with the Bears, he moved to the Atlanta Falcons last year and he’s ready to take his record even further in 2015. His former home in Chicago is also worthy of our attention, a 10,000 square feet mansion spread across three floors, which he’s trying to sell for $2.65 million.
13. Robert Griffin III
As we speak, RG III’s future with the Washington Redskins is a bit uncertain, as his team named Kirk Cousins as their starting quarterback in 2015. Robert Griffin III started with a bang his career in the NFL, but after that impressive first season, injuries and poor form made him decline. He’s still the proud owner of this stunning 8,800 square feet property, in Aldie, Virginia, that has everything an NFL quarterback could ask for: five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a jacuzzi, a golf course, a game and media room, a wine cellar and even an ins-house elevator.
12. Rob Gronkowski
Rob Gronkowski’s incredible waterfront estate from Tampa is probably the ultimate bachelor pad, the perfect place to throw pool parties and hang out with friends. He bought this 4,781 square foot mansion back in 2012 for $1.6 million, but decided to sell it for $2.4 million because he’s not able to visit Tampa too often to enjoy the property. Gronkowski’s bachelor pad has a game room with billiards table, an in-house elevator, a nice wet bar, built-in fish tanks and a powerful surround sound system, just to name a few of its amenities.
11. Philip Rivers
Philip Rivers has been one of the best quarterbacks in the league in these last years, and he has a huge home to match his big paycheck. He purchased this lavish property for $3.3 million, a six bedroom, six bathroom estate, with all the luxuries you could think of. It has a lovely courtyard with a fountain, an outdoor fireplace, a stunning swimming pool with a waterfall, private rose gardens, a library, media room and many other amenities. Sorry for the poor quality of these photos, that’s the best we could find.
10. Marshawn Lynch
Marshawn Lynch is the proud owner of this incredible waterfront property in Richmond, California, that seems like the perfect pad for a player who’s nicknamed “Beast Mode”. Lynch bought this amazing estate for $3.3 million a couple of years ago and right after he bought it, he had a 58-foot boat dock built so he can play with his water toys. The home has 7,000 square feet of living space, with 5 bedrooms and 5 and a half bathrooms, offering a breathtaking view of the San Francisco Bay.
9. Matt Forte
If you think this property looks like an apartment building, don’t worry, you’re probably not alone. Matt Forte, the Chicago Bears’ running back, bought this huge mansion in downtown Chicago for over $4 million last year, a home big enough for his entire team. With 9,000 square foot of luxurious living space, Matt Forte’s new home even has a home theater that could accommodate up to 20 people, among other impressive amenities, of course.
8. Tony Romo
Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is the proud owner of this breathtaking mansion in Texas, that’s almost as huge as his massive contract. He custom built this incredible home, featuring 32,515 square foot of living space, with six bedrooms and a study, an amazing pool, spa, a special outdoor entertaining area, three fireplaces and many other goodies. Romo apparently paid over $3 million for the land and over $6 million for the construction of this lavish mansion. Too bad we can’t find more photos of it online.
7. DeMarcus Ware
DeMarcus Ware bought this charming mansion when he was playing for the Dallas Cowboys. Located in a private, gated community in Dallas and featuring six bedrooms and seven bathrooms, this home has 10,000 square foot of living space, filled with exquisite amenities. Seven fireplaces, a ground-level trampoline, a wine cellar and porch, putting greens and many other things, were among the amenities Ware enjoyed in Texas. But now that he moved to the Denver Broncos, he’s selling this property for a reasonable $2.2 million.
6. Reggie Bush
Reggie Bush purchased this mind blowing home in Los Angeles back in 2007, for a cool $4.7 million. At 4,831 square foot, this lavish estate might seem tiny compared to other mega-mansions from this list, but it offers something that no other home can: breathtaking views over L.A. The gorgeous pad comes with an in-house elevator which connects the three levels of the house, a chef’s kitchen, a state of the art theater, a library and outside there’s a lovely pool/spa. Reggie Bush recently listed this superb Los Angeles estate for $5.1 million.
5. Patrick Peterson
Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson bought this incredible mansion in Gilbert, Arizona, for just $1.3 million back in 2011. Don’t be fooled by the price tag though, because this 8,300 square foot home is one of the most amazing pads you’ve ever seen, with seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a home theater, a billiards room, two fireplaces and two separate swimming pools. There’s also a 1,050 square feet guest house, a massive garage, a spa, rock waterfalls and many other interesting details – a steal for that price.
4. Peyton Manning
When he moved to the Denver Broncos, Peyton Manning bought this sprawling 16,464 square-foot mansion in Chevy Hills Village, Colorado, for just $4.57 million. With seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, an inside elevator, a spacious garage and even a room for his dogs and a panic room, this mesmerizing home is surely worthy of the greatest quarterback to ever step foot on an NFL field. We don’t know exactly why he has a panic room, but it’s probably a good thing to have after a loss in the Super Bowl.
3. Brandon Marshall
Brandon Marshall paid a little over $4 million on this breathtaking 11,877 square foot mansion nestled in Southwest Ranches, Florida. Built in 2009, this lavish property has six bedrooms and seven bathrooms, a lovely home theater, a gym, game room, an impressive swimming pool & spa, a sports court and even an indoor garage that could hold up to four cars. An impressive home for a great receiver!
2. Aaron Rodgers
The reigning MVP was just a little short of taking his team to another Super Bowl last year, but the Green Bay Packers are among the favorites to win it all this season. At just 31, he’s already one of the best NFL quarterbacks of all time, that’s why he truly deserves a lavish home, where he could recharge his batteries after every game. Apart from numerous bedrooms and bathrooms, Aaron Rodgers’s home comes with a nice swimming pool and spa, a huge dining room and even a man-made garden.
1. Tom Brady
As expected, we’ve saved the best for last and when it comes to incredible homes owned by NFL Players, the award first spot will always go to Tom Brady and his supermodel wife, Gisele Bundchen. Even though the couple has recently sold their glamorous mansion in California to Dr.Dre for a staggering $40 million, their new mansion in Brookline, Boston, is already announced to be even better than that.
Tom Brady’s new palatial home is still in the works, but from the looks of it, it seems already worthy of a champ and his supermodel wife. The gorgeous Boston property will sit on 5.2 acres of land, right next to the owner of the New England Patriots, and will feature a five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a spa, a motor court, a massive pool with a Baja shelf (with a shallow end where you can get a tan), a massive library, a wine cellar and even a yoga studio. We’re sure it’s going to look absolutely insane when it’s completed.
Oh and as a bonus, here’s Tom Brady’s former home – A palace surrounded by a moat
Tom Brady and Gisele have bought this sprawling palace in California back in 2008 for $11 million and invested a ton of money to make it look exactly like this. The 18,298 square foot mansion had 5 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, a six car garage, a lagoon-shaped swimming pool, a spa, in-house elevator and many other goodies. It was initially listed for sale at $50 million and today hip hop legend Dr.Dre can call this place home.
