With all the luxury watchmakers usually focused on creating timepieces for men, it’s easy to overlook fine watches that were specially designed for women. Lady 8 by prestigious Swiss watchmaker Jaquet Droz is one of these exquisite pieces.
Designed around the figure 8 motif (which is the brand’s lucky number), the watch prominently displays the featured numeric symbol. The entire case is shaped like an 8, as is the folding clasp.
Even without its striking shape, the timepiece is a very beautiful creation. Available in ceramic (either black or white) or red gold and mother-of-pearl, the Lady 8 is as much an exquisite piece of jewelry as it is a time-telling instrument. Further emphasizing the ornamental nature of these watches, each is adorned with a sizeable amount of diamonds: 48 diamonds on the ceramic versions and 175 on the red gold and mother-of-pearl model. Also, completing the top half of the figure 8, each timepiece boasts a round pearl or precious stone above the dial.
