Sol y Sombra (which is Spanish for Sun and Shade) is a wonderful property on one of Virgin Gorda’s most tucked away and pristine beaches.

The resort comprises five pavilions which take advantage of the secluded location, while also offering comfortable and luxurious accommodations the entire family can enjoy. These Thai-style pavilions have high ceilings and folding glass walls, with coralstone flooring inside and out further highlighting the seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living. Each bedroom has an en suite bathroom and air conditioning, in addition to an office, DSL Internet access, portable crib, and an automatic generator, ensuring the stay is as pleasant as possible.

Active people will be glad to know there are lots of facilities for those who like to run, jump, or swim, from the infinity pool with pool toys, to the basketball hoop, to a tennis court. You might have also noticed you’re fairly close to the ocean, so using the kayaks or snorkeling gear is another option. And when you get hungry, head over to the well-equipped European-style kitchen, which also has a wet bar and a wine cooler.

With its excellent accommodations, great amenities, private setting, and unforgettable natural surroundings, Sol y Sombra is a Caribbean resort worthy of a visit if you’re considering traveling to that wonderful part of the world.
