A unique bus will hit the RM Auctions on the 26th of October, formerly used by the Scuderia Ferrari between 2001 -2005, the Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichelo times. To satisfy the grand 7-time F1 champion’s wishes, the bus had to be heavily modified.
The Iveco Domino is powered by an Iveco power plant and a ZF 8-speed gearbox with electronic selector. It also has hydraulic shock absorbers and anti-roll bars and an air suspension. It’s obvious that this bus had undergone some meticulous service. Having run for around 85,000 km, it was also used for interviews and meetings.
Two rear and front doors provide access inside the two compartments it has. Each room has a physiotherapy bed and table, if the travelers don’t feel up to their normal shape; furthermore, internet capabilities, 15×18 inch LCD TV, satellite phone, living room and mini bar are also in the menu for each cabin.
The bus wasn’t fully tooled up when the current owner had bought it. He had to add some amenities to the interior: two Panasonic TV sets ($2,950), a Bose Home Theater System ($3,111), a new bed ($8,580), Intastat TV/internet/satellite system ($6,397), approximately $3,100 on different sorts of accessories plus the bus got converted to a motorhome for $68,906.
The auction will revolve around the sums of $311,000 – $466,000; for racing enthusiasts, this will be a wonderful opportunity to feel like a F1 driver.
