Time-traveling has been humanity’s most powerful dream, possibly due to the fact that time is one of the few things that is not under our control. But there are still ways to forget all about that and simply enjoy past eras or imagine how the future might look.
Guests are welcomed to step back in time and experience another age at the charming Eremito – Hotelito del Alma. Showing off a little monastic charm, the secluded eco-resort is surrounded by a peaceful natural reserve.
Simply put, this is a haven I would never want to leave and why would anyone do that? Escaping the outside world is possible in rural Umbria, where the ruin of a 14th century hermitage was restored to the current luxurious status of the lodgings.
Only 14 guests can be accommodated by Eremito, with each Celluzze styled in a similar manner to the ancient monk quarters. The austere aesthetic is not limited to the outside structure, but to the interiors of this property as well. As such a lack of in-room WiFi Internet, phone and television is to be expected – this is a place of rest and relaxation, after all.
Dining at Eremito is a humble experience as well, with the restaurant serving a fixed vegetarian menu supported by the resort’s own private, organic garden on-site; even the bread and pasta are home made, with the jams and cakes following the same recipe.
Yoga and meditation courses are the choices for free-time activities, although horse riding and walks in the woods are always an option.
